Here I go again...cramming the last hour of my busy day to squeeze in some good writing to update the homescripts of my journal. It's that time of year when you just seem to get preoccupied on all sorts of things-to-do all around the home most specially and the tasks at work that are needed to meet deadlines.
These are such overwhelming schedules every single day not to mention my twice-a-week evening classes that I am taking, which is planned to end by February (I'm in total high hopes for that). The closer the holiday gets the greater expectations are pressed upon us and I am becoming a little over panicky about it. But, this is an annual experience and it 's not something foreign so I'd say, to just get up and move forward and stay focused. Fortunately, I have made more than 50% of my holiday goals for the home; and will definitely continue on to finish the remaining percent to completely submit a passing grade for my holiday preps. Here are they:
2. Wrap gifts (about 10% undone; not quite bad considering that those remaining to-be-wrapped await arrival from online shopping)
3. Decide on my traditional annual family gifts (I made some chocolate krinkles last year; but i haven't decided on what to do this year. I am in the mood for tin cans though for 2012 so we'll see about that.)
5. To finalize the schedule for our annual family photo ops (we are a Sears Photo Studio regular but this year, I am doing it myself so good luck to me and I hope I'll give justice to it and make our family photo really pretty) -- this I am almost there and must definitely not later than wednesday this week.
6. Compile old Christmas cards as tabletop decor
6. To finish our special gift for our little princess. (Santa made a call and he's ready with his gift for her but we're not so I gotta make sure I get done with it over the weekend)
And ofcourse there's the unending household chores that we need to do on a higher level this holiday season:
7. Deep cleaning of the carpet and the bathroom; pretty much the whole house. ;-) It's always nice to welcome His birthday with a clean heart and a clean house as well don't you think?
Finally, which is the most important thing....is for us to attend 1 more sunday of the Advent in church (we missed this sunday unfortunately) this Christmas season. Also, we will be able to attend again this year's 'Simbang Gabi', which is the highlight of all these prepping we're doing; and off to welcome the midnight for a great birthday celebration. ;-) That's our family time over some home-cooked holiday recipes, drinks and ofcourse....karaoke. Oh yeah, I'll be belting this year in closed-doors. Cheers!
Happy happy Christmas prepping everyone. One more week to go!
postscripts: ...and as we will celebrate this season of joy and love let us all too remember that a small part of the nation is mourning over a tragic event that took many young lives away from their beloved mommies and daddies and loved ones. It is too hard to even set our minds and body to be in glee and to be ready into all sorts of festivities learning about that horrible incident. But in this turbulence I believe and I know that God has not forsaken us and he did not leave us by ourselves.
I'd like to take this bit of freedom space in the cyber world to extend my family's heart and prayers to those lovely persons and kids who have shortly lived on this Earth. I know that although it is tough to accept their loss they are in our Creator's hands and they will be in peace to now guide those that are left here in the world. To the families who are left behind...know that the world is praying for you and that we are all here to share that strength and courage to face the even tougher part of this all...that is, to accept that fact that they will not be here physically to be with us all anymore.
