'Tis the Season to Be....

Do you hear the silver bells?? How about smelling the pine cones?  Surely Costco is in the mood for it in August and now that the first week of the 'ber' month has come all the more the sounds of carols, the beautiful decors and many other signs of the most celebrated season of the year is finally coming this early. Well, I wouldn't be surprised to see these in the store since I grew up where Christmas is celebrated the longest. Believe it or not as soon as September kicks in malls, streets, offices and many residential homes begin to flaunt Christmas lights and set up the decorations especially the tree. Whew! I know that will sound crazy here in the US since t he turkey and the ghost should always come first in line. ;-)

But of course, our old tradition from some hundreds of thousands of miles away is very much practiced here although not as extreme as how we do it in Manila, we certainly began the feel of starting up the basics. That is, the gifts for godchildren!

We have decided to be better shoppers this year and we started it out last week. Since sale on toys were the primary cheapos for most stores like, Walmart, Target, Ross...we took advantage of it and grab as plenty as we could. My better half has spent about $100 for about 10 toy items ranging originally from $15 - $54. The discounted price were from $5 - $10 a piece. Woot woot! That's an incredible savings ladies and gents.
The holiday season could sometimes be very challenging especially in terms of budget and the amount of time spent to complete the shopping. But when it's done the earliest, the probability of impulse and careless shopping will be avoided big time. When there's a room for a lot of time, planning and deciding will never be a stress.

So, I like our system of shopping early for the holidays to avoid stress and poor decision-making. The more time alloted to it the better result it will give you. And don't even worry about where to put all the gifts you bought now. You CAN always find a space in the garage to keep them for now without compromising organization. Just bring out the creativity in you. We put ours in the garage...I haven't taken them out of the shopping bags yet but I will definitely plan to cover them up with something that won't get noticed. And of course that's the reason why I'm not posting any pictures of those we bought. ;-)

Have you begun any early shopping for the holidays lately?? ;-)
